Saturday morning we were up bright and early to frost Christmas cookies. This is something we look forward to doing with "Nan" every year.
Later that day we celebrated Christmas at Nan and Grampa's house. It was amazing how calm and quiet the kids were this year, until we realized they were all using electronics! Electronics were replaced with their new toys, and excited chatter replaced the silence. Everyone's gifts were a hit this year, especially the girls' new Barbie house. Thanks Nan and Grampa!
Church the next day was probably the highlight of my trip. All of the grandkids got to light the Advent wreath together with Nan and Grampa, and they didn't burn the place down!
After church we celebrated Michael's 9th birthday with good food, family, and cake.
We treasure time spent with our family in Toledo, since we do not have the luxury of seeing them often. The holidays are always a great time to reconnect and remember why they are all so near and dear to us!
