Ten Months Today!

Lily is 10 months old today. It is so hard to believe that she'll be turning one in just two short months!

She's been trying a lot of new foods: bread, banana, pear, pancakes, meatloaf. She's still partial to milk and stars though.

She loves to play. One of her favorite toys is the shape sorter. She likes to explore things by tasting them and feeling them.


And she sure likes books! Now that she can turn the pages on her own, she is fascinated by them.


All that playing and reading can surely tire a girl out! Lily still takes two naps. She likes to play with her hair (what little she has) before falling asleep.

Lily has an infectious smile. She loves to be around people. Each day we get to see a little more of her personality.

School's Out!

Ava officially finished her first year of preschool last week!

She learned so much at school! She can write her name, recognize her last name, count syllables in words, draw stick people and rainbows, and recite the days of the week and the months, just to name a few.

She made lots of new friends that she will miss over the summer.



She'll miss her wonderful teachers too!

Until school starts back up again, I guess she'll just have to settle for playing school at home. Wonder who her pupil will be?

Dancing Queen

Over the weekend we went to my college roommate's wedding. Ava is quickly discovering the joy of a wedding reception. She tore it up on the dance floor all night long! Here is just a sampling of her moves...

Lils had a few moves of her own.

Cherie was a beautiful bride! Ava followed her around all night and now refers to her as a princess. I was happy to see many of my college friends.

Mother's Day

We began our Mother's Day celebration early with a trip to Ava's school Thursday night. It was Mom's night.

She showed me all of her beautiful artwork. This is a picture of our family.

Then she danced and sang for me!

On Saturday, Aunt Mel came into town and we treated Mimi to lunch at the Morgan House. Then we presented her with flowers and gifts. Unfortunately, no one remembered a camera! We spent Sunday at Nan's house in Toledo. She was happy we were there! Aunt Trish and Aunt Beth celebrated with us too.
I am thankful for the moms in my life that inspire me to be a better mommy!
I am also thankful for the two reasons that I get to celebrate Mother's Day!

Baby Carver

On our way home from Chicago, we got to stop at Aunt Deena and Uncle Trav's and meet our new baby cousin Carver. Ava was in heaven holding little Carver and Lily didn't do too badly either. What a precious little guy!

Big City Girls!

We traveled to Chicago this past weekend to visit Aunt Mel and Uncle Tolga!

On Saturday we took the girls to the Lincoln Park zoo where Lily had her first ride on the merry-go-round. We saw lots of cool animals there.







On Sunday we headed to Milleneum Park downtown. We were so lucky to have beautiful weather!




Not only did we enjoy the sights, but we also enjoyed the food!



Most of all, we enjoyed the company! We miss you already Aunt Mel and Uncle Tolga!
