B-Boy's Birthday

Now it's time to celebrate Bennett's birthday- number four! We had a cookout with family and he requested a football cake.

Then we did the usual birthday breakfast, dinner out, and opening of gifts. B got a Buckeye jersey and football.

Bennett, you are such a light in our family. You bring us such joy and laughter and we love you so much!

First Time Tailgating

Buckeye football has been a tradition in our family since Ava was little, so we were very excited to take everyone tailgating for the first time. We went to check out the O-Team tailgate, belonging to our friends the Adkins.

We did all the usuals- ate yummy food, played some cornhole, checked out the sites. B loved the ambulance! I think it's safe to say they are Buckeyes for life.

Last time at the Lake

I am so happy that we were able to go to Uncle Geoff's over Labor Day weekend. We used to make this an annual tradition, but the more kids you have, the more difficult it is to get up there. Uncle Geoff had been battling liver cancer a while, and we knew this may be our last trip to see him. Sadly, we were right.
It was an absolutely beautiful day up there! We did the usual boating, swimming, eating, visiting with LOTS of family. What a great last memory at one of our favorite spots.

We will miss Uncle Geoff dearly. He was such a kind and giving man, a wonderful example to all of his nieces and nephews. Rest in peace Uncle Geoff, we love you!

Ava Turns 10!

Hard to believe a whole decade has flown by! Ava's birthday also marks ten years that we have been posting on this blog. Thank you to all of our loyal fans!

If you go back ten years, you'll remember that Ava came into the world around the same time as her friend Drew. Even though Drew and his family moved to Michigan a few years ago, I am happy to say that we still keep in touch. How fitting that we were able to meet up with the Schaeffers for dinner the night of Ava's birthday. We had not seen them since our annual New Year's Eve get together.

We headed on to Uncle Geoff's the next day for Labor Day and got to celebrate there too.

Then we celebrated with our Toledo cousins the next day. Birthdays are always a big deal in our household!

Happy birthday Ava! We love you to the moon and back and wish you many more years of love and laughter.
