Lily's 1st Birthday!

Today Lily turns one! We can't believe all of the amazing things she has learned in a year.

Among Lily's milestones this month is crawling. She is finally up on all fours!

She can also feed herself an entire meal.

And drink juice from a cup.

She has mastered several signs! Here she is signing "milk". She is also able to say a few words. Among her favorites are da-da, uh-oh, moooo, and Ava (more like "aya").

On Saturday we had her birthday party at our house. Much of our family and friends were in attendance.






She felt a little unsure of everyone singing "Happy Birthday" to her...

But then she tasted the frosting.

Just look at those handfuls of cake!!!

Mmmmm...

A good time was had by all, especially the birthday girl.

Vacation Bible School

Ava attended vacation bible school all week with her friends, Drew and Marin.

They had a great time together! The week culminated with a program Friday night. They showed off all that they learned while they sang and danced.


When we asked Ava what she learned, she said that "God loves us very much!"

Dance Class

Last week Ava attended a week of dance class with her friend Maggie. Needless to say, she found dressing up and seeing Maggie much more interesting than the dancing...

Lily's First Fourth!

What a busy 4th of July weekend we had! We spent Saturday up at the Lake where we enjoyed swimming, boating, and sports.











Aunt Mel and Uncle Tolga had a very special announcement to make.


A reminder of why we celebrate the 4th of July- Aaron's cousin Kirk is a Marine and he just returned from 8 months in Afghanistan. We're so proud of you Kirk!

On the way back to Toledo we stopped to watch the fireworks. Lily clapped for them!
