Getting Ready for Baby

We are less than a month away from the arrival of our third child! Lots has been going on to help us prepare for his birth.
Ava and Lily attended Big Sibling Class at the hospital. They learned about new babies and saw a couple of newborns in the nursery. They also got to visit a room like the one we will be staying in.




My mom and sisters hosted a night out to celebrate.

Mimi created yet another masterpiece for his nursery.



And friends from my weekly prayer group hosted a baby shower.




We are looking forward to meeting you baby Bennett!

First Day of Kindergarten!

I know that every parent probably utters these same words on the first day of school, but I am in awe of how fast time goes when you have children. Kindergarten? Seriously? Seems like yesterday we brought Ava home from the hospital, and today we watched her walk into the next chapter of life- elementary school.
Ava has been excited about going to Kindergarten all summer. We counted down the days, practiced tying shoes, bought all the necessities. So it was not a difficult send-off. I surprised myself by not crying either, especially since parents were not allowed to walk them in. So we watched her walk gingerly into the building this morning.
When Mimi and I picked her up, she was happy with how the day went. We asked her a million questions and found that she had made a new friend, bought lunch with no problem, and enjoyed 3 recesses! She is looking forward to going back tomorrow. What more could we ask for?

Colorado Cousins!

We took a trip home to Toledo last week to visit with our Colorado cousins, Sophie and Cecelia. Unfortunately, we only get to see them once or twice a year. Each time we do though, the girls pick up right where they left off! It was nice to balance out the girl to boy ratio.
Some of the highlights were visiting the 577 Foundation and swimming in the neighbor's pool. And no visit home would be complete without a trip to Mel-O-Creme!

The Dentist

Add one more to Lily's list! She took her first trip to the dentist today. Thanks to Ava, she was a very brave girl.

Lily's New Room!

Lily has worked so hard this summer to prepare for big sisterhood! She learned to use the potty, turned three, and now she is officially in her "big girl" room. Once again, Mimi designed an incredible retreat with Daddy and Papa's help.





As you can see, she is quite excited about her new room! She was even willing to leave her binky in her old room for her little brother. YAY!!!
