Water Baby

Ava went to Chicago with Mimi and Papa this weekend, which means that Lily has Mommy and Daddy all to herself! Today we decided to take her for her first swim.

It's hard to tell from the pictures, but she loved it! She kicked her feet and seemed very at home in the water.

Look out Michael Phelps!

Happy Half-Birthday Lily!

That's right! Lily is 6 months old today, and we celebrated in style.

First we had a photo shoot...

Then big sister Ava helped whip up some brownies.We sang "Happy Half-Birthday" to her before eating them.
Here's an update on what Lily has been up to this month. Solid food was a big milestone this month. She is already up to 3 servings of cereal a day and will start veggies soon. I wonder if she'll love food as much as Mommy and Ava!

Lily FINALLY started napping consistantly. But when she's not napping, boy does she love to play!

She's beginning to take an interest in books too.

She has become such a happy baby! Must be all that sleep she is getting.


And she absolutely adores her big sister. No one can make her smile and laugh quite like Ava does. It is really a joy to see!
Happy half-birthday Lily! Our family is so much brighter with you in it!

Lily Eats Cereal!

Now that Lily is almost 6 months, it's about time for her to enter into the world of table food. That is, if you consider pasty mush table food. Here are pictures from her latest adventure:

Between the four of us, I think Ava was most excited! Notice how she is ready to take pictures with her toy camera.

Ava was such a good helper, cleaning Lily up after her first meal in the high chair.

Cousins' Reunion

We just got back from our latest Toledo adventure. Nan celebrated her birthday and we visited with Aunt Gina, Sophie, and Cecelia!

The grandkids (all 9 of them) threw Nan a surprise birthday party:

Soph and Ava enjoyed spending time together. They are both three going on thirteen and managed to get into some trouble together! After disappearing for a short while one night, they emerged from Nan's bathroom looking like this:

They had raided Nan's make-up drawer. Ava's comment- "Look, I'm a clown!"

We also found them browsing the internet looking for Sophie's daddy.

They attempted to have a sleepover in the same bed, but that lasted until midnight when both Mommy's were too tired to supervise.
Ava and Soph weren't the only two girls stirring up trouble. It won't be long before Cecelia and Lily are following in their footsteps!
Do these matching outfits look familiar? That's because they used to be Soph and Ava's!

While we were there, it snowed about 10 inches and Ava got to break in her new boots!

It's safe to say that all of the cousins had a blast together. We are already looking forward to our next cousins' reunion!
