VBS 2013- Kingdom Rock!

Ava and Lily just completed their week at Vacation Bible School. This is one summer event they CANNOT miss! This year the theme was Kingdom Rock. With all of their knowledge about princesses, they were right at home. Each day they participated in several fun activities that helped them learn about God. They ate snacks (their favorite) and learned new songs. I showed up early each day so I could check out their latest dance moves.

Our gift to Papa this year was a trip to the Ohio Railway Museum. Both of his grandsons share his love for trains, so it was a treat for them too! We got to see a real, live steam engine and tour some cars that were VERY old.

                                                      We also got to take a ride on a train.

                                 I think the best part was the trip for ice cream afterwards!

Dad's Day

We are so lucky to have so many wonderful dads in our lives! This year we celebrated with our Columbus dads.
First and foremost is Daddy! We treated him to homemade cards, a hand-made crown, a book, new DVD player, and a whole day ALL to himself.

Then we went to Aunt Mel's to celebrate with Uncle Tolga and Papa. Don't they look nice in their hand-made crowns?

Although we couldn't celebrate in person, another special dad in our lives is Grampa. With his funny jokes and silly tricks, we love him so much!

Cedar Point!!

We didn't waste any time kicking off the summer fun this year. Just a couple of days after school got out, we took a family trip to Cedar Point. And by family, I mean both the Tomars and Mimi and Papa too. All of the kids enjoyed playing in the kiddie area and riding the rides.

And the big kids had fun too!

We all had our favorites. Bennett loved the train,

Lily loved riding on the carousel,

I liked the ferris wheel because it was a good place to recap the day,

And Ava enjoyed the Junior Gemini.

One surprise of the trip was that Lily was first to ride it! Once was enough for her though (and me).

Since it rained on one of our days we went over to Castaway Bay, an indoor water park. The kids had a blast in the wave pool and the wading pool. Bennett especially enjoyed the water slide.

We truly enjoyed our time together. I can't think of a better way to begin the summer!
