A Trip to the Zoo

We took advantage of the beautiful weather and headed to the zoo with Maya and Baran. This trip was extra special because Lily and Baran rode a horse!

Memorial Weekend

We were lucky enough to spend another fun weekend up at Uncle Geoff's lakehouse for Memorial Day weekend. This time we celebrated a couple of firsts- Ava's first time tubing and Bennett's first time there! What first time wouldn't be complete without driving the boat?

Show Stoppers

What are the chances that both Ava and Lily's dance recitals would fall on the same day? Apparently, quite good! Although it made for a pretty crazy day, they both were stars of the show. This was Lily's first dance class. She was in a ballet/gym class. She loved the dance part of it, but was a little shy about doing gymnastics. She made a huge improvement by the end though! Since this was her first time on stage we were a little nervous for her, but she was quite the performer. Ava was up next. She is more of a seasoned pro. This was her second dance performance, so there were very little nerves. She was all business! Both girls danced their little hearts out, and we couldn't be more proud!

Jordan Graduates!

Over the weekend we attended Jordan's high school graduation. Aaron and I graduated from the same high school 18 years ago, so it was a special event on many levels.

In the fall, Jordan will go to BGSU and study music. We couldn't be more proud of him!

Silly Lily

At three years old, Lily is really coming into her own. She has been such a character! Much of the time she is locked in her own imaginary world, including an invisible friend named "Dude". She loves to tell made up stories and has an incredible zest for life. I can always count on her to say something sweet like, "I love spending time with you" or "Are all moms good like you?" She even compliments my cooking! Here are some of my favorite goofy pics of her.

Mom's Day

Each year Mother's Day seems to get better. As the girls get older, their gifts are more and more meaningful. And now I get to celebrate with my son. We kicked it off with Mom's night at Lily's school. She sang a song for me, and we got to decorate a bag together.

On Mother's Day the girls presented me with some lovely gifts that they made at school.

Then we all went to church and yummy lunch with Mimi and Aunt Mel. I was treated to a mani and pedi and enjoyed the rest of the day with my wonderful family. It was a great day!

May Crowning and Daisies

Ava has been busy wrapping up the school year. Earlier this month she got to take part in May Crowning. Her class got to sing a couple of songs for the whole school, and she was quite the performer!

I also got to volunteer in Ava's Daisy class. A former Girl Scout myself, it was fun to see her following in Mom's footsteps.

Hard to believe Kindergarten is almost over!

Cousin Celebrations

In the past couple of weeks we were able to celebrate some big events with our cousins... Jordan will graduate high school this year. A few weekends ago he starred as the Lion in the Wizard of Oz. The girls are STILL talking about his convincing performance. Michael made his first communion. And Mia was baptized.
