Halloween Week

What a week it's been! I think that we have attended every possible Fall/Halloween activity that the city of Columbus offers...

Last Saturday we went to Boo at the Zoo. It was a beautiful, warm evening. The girls enjoyed the decorations and Lily got her first taste of trick-or-treating (literally).

Then on Monday, Ava got to dress up for dance class. Go figure, she dressed up as a ballerina! We also carved pumpkins.

Wednesday I got to go with Ava on her school fieldtrip to the pumpkin patch. We learned about many, many kinds of pumpkins. Did you know there is a white pumpkin with white insides!

On Thursday I brought the girls to my school parade and party. Their costumes were a big hit! I have to give props to Daddy for Ava's computer costume. We went trick-or-treating in our neighborhood that night. Ava was a good sport in her costume, even though she could not reach her basket to put the candy in. Lily was a pro, toddling up to houses and saying "twick or tweat."

On Friday, Ava had her parade and party at school. Then we went to Premier for their Halloween party. This is where our beloved babysitter works. Ava won the costume contest for 2-5 year olds!

Saturday Ava got to go to her friend's Halloween birthday party. The Bug Guy was there showing the kids all kinds of creepy crawlies. Ava was the only one brave enough to actually EAT a fried cricket. Yes, you read that correctly. She ATE A BUG!!! I guess she was feeling the Halloween spirit.

I think on the actual day of Halloween we will be too tired to do anything!

Weekend in T-Town

We spent the past weekend visiting the cousins up in Toledo. As usual, we jam-packed everything we possibly could into two days! On Friday we went trick-or-treating in the parking lot at Cardinal Stritch, then we headed to the football game to see Jordan rock out on the drums. On Saturday we celebrated Jack's birthday at the bowling alley. This was the first time Ava has bowled, and she beat my score! Then we had the traditional birthday pinata at Nan and Grampa's, and watched football. What a great weekend!

Pumpkin Patch

We continued our celebration of Fall today at the Maize pumpkin farm in Plain City. This has been a yearly trek for us since Ava was a baby. The girls enjoyed petting all of the animals, eating kettle corn, and taking a hayride to pick out our very own pumpkins to carve. We were happy to have Papa join us too!
