Back to College

This weekend we loaded up the kids and headed to Cleveland to visit my college roommates. The last time I was on campus, Ava was just a baby. So we made the long overdue trip up to John Carroll.

We had a wonderful weekend visiting with friends and reliving old memories. I was surprised at how interested they were while we walked around campus. Maybe there will be another Blue Streak in the family?

Trouble with a Capital "B"

Now that Bennett is 10 months old, I am beginning to understand why people warned that boys can be a little different than girls. Here are some of my observations.
Ava and Lily would be occupied with a couple of toys for hours. Bennett plays with a toy for a few minutes, then he goes in search of an outlet, cabinet, blinds, or anything else he is not supposed to play with.

When eating finger foods, Ava and Lily would pick up one tiny morsel at a time. Bennett grabs as much as he can with both fists and tries to stuff it all in his mouth. This makes clean up quite a chore!

After giving the girls a bath, I was relatively dry. Soaking wet with Bennett. And he takes pleasure in doing it!
His motor skills are definitely developing faster than his sisters'. They crawled at 12 months. He's been crawling since 8 months. He pulls up on things and is not afraid to try new things.

Even though keeping up with a boy can be tiring, it is completely worth it. The devious smile, the sloppy kisses, the end of the day cuddles. I can't get enough!

Celebrating Lily's Birthday

Lily celebrated her 4th birthday in style. Earlier this month Aunt Trish hosted a princess/pirate party at her new house in up in Toledo.

On her birthday, we spent the day baking special treats to share with our family and friends. That night we celebrated with castle cake and ice cream with Columbus family.

Lily was the guest of honor at her princess party the next day. She invited some of her friends to celebrate at our fitness club. They had pizza, played bingo, ate froggy cupcakes, and swam at the pool.

Happy birthday Lils!

Summer Fun - Part 2

We continue to enjoy the activities that summer brings! Summer concerts, the St. Jerome festival, Jordan's graduation party, and our cousin Aubree's first birthday party.

We also spent a few days up at Uncle Geoff's house at the lake. The kids enjoyed swimming, fishing, boating, and feeding the baby swans.

We took a trip to COSI, a science museum.

All the activities are fun, but spending time with family and friends is what it's all about!
