Sisterhood

Ava has really taken to being a big sister (or should I say, little mommy). There are times when she has more patience than I do! She helps out with whatever she can, including singing songs to calm her baby sister. She holds her hand in the car and gives her too many kisses to count. She has even given Lily a nickname- Noonie.

Two Months Old

Lily is now two months old! She is a charmer with her smiles and coos.

Lily now weighs about 13 pounds. Needless to say, she is a good eater. She sleeps well at night, but catnaps during the day. Too busy to sleep!

She is beginning to hold up her head and she loves to stare at toys (trying to figure out how to get her hands on them). We are all enjoying watching her little personality develop!

We All Scream for Ice Cream!

Ava's school hosted an ice cream social at the park. Ice cream AND swings? What more could a girl ask for?

Lily was also in attendance, but she was too sleepy to participate.

Ava enjoyed the "musical" playground,

the balloon animals,

and the fire truck.

But the ice cream topped them all!

School Girl

Ava has officially completed her first week of preschool. She LOVES it. Aaron and I dropped her off for the first time on Tuesday. After kissing her goodbye, we waited at the door to see if she'd check if we were still there. She never did!

Here are some of the things that she gets to do. No wonder she likes it so much!

Mommy is especially proud of how still Ava sits at storytime!

Here are her teachers, Ms. Cindy and Ms. Julie.

So proud of our big girl!

More Birthday Fun

We celebrated Ava's birthday with her friends and family in Columbus over the weekend. She LOVES to swing at the park, so the family decided to pitch in and buy a swingset for the back yard. It took Grampa, Daddy, and Jack all night Friday and all Saturday afternoon to put it together. We went to great lengths to keep it a surprise, including shipping her off to Mimi's house to spend the night.

Once it was all put together, we brought Ava outside to see it. She didn't even notice it until she got about 10 feet away. Then she said "I want to swing!" About 5 minutes later it really seemed to sink in because she started jumping up and down in excitement. We've been swinging every day since!

It was nearly impossible to get Ava off the swings, so we brought the party to her.

The adults enjoyed the swingset too!

Cake was the only thing that could coax Ava off the swingset, especially the doll cake that Mimi made.

Everyone had a great time!

Three Already???

I can't believe that our baby girl is three! She has been an absolute blessing since the day she was born. We constantly marvel at how much she is learning, and her sense of humor keeps us laughing all the time.

Ava's birthday was extra special this year because Mommy got to attend the first day of school with her. More pictures will follow next week.

She also chose to have a McDonald's picnic at the park for dinner, including a vanilla milkshake.

To no one's surprise, she wanted to swing the entire time!

Happy Birthday bug!

A Busy Weekend

We had a busy Labor Day weekend. On Friday we headed up to Toledo so that we could head to Nan's on Saturday to watch the first Buckeye game. She had lots of family over to celebrate Daddy's birthday, Ava's upcoming birthday, and Lily's birth.

Ava had a blast playing with her cousins. The hit of the party (excuse the pun) was a pinata. The kids had fun taking their turns, but they were likely traumatized when Daddy came along and beheaded the thing with one hit.

Lily enjoyed all of the attention and slept peacefully through the whole party.

The next day we headed up to the lake in Michigan. Lily had her first boat ride and Ava enjoyed a swim in the lake. She also learned how to play volleyball and enjoyed more birthday cake.

Lily got to meet her cousin Monica, who is about 8 weeks older.
